2024 SEASON 5 FINAL JACKPOT ROUND

9 teams competed in the Season 5 Final Jackpot Round.
The average number of questions correctly answered was 8.78 out of 12.

Unlike Season 4 where the lead changed 5 times, this time it only changed 3 times.

It changed 3 times between only 2 teams.

Question 1 - superspeedy Sunboyz scored 996 points, answering in 0.236 seconds.

This is the most number of points ever for a correct answer in a Season Final Jackpot Round.

(The previous record was 990 points, set a year ago by Pink Bits in 2023 Season 5 Final.)

Stuffed If Barney Knows followed hot on Sunboyz' heels in 2nd, while Betty Swallows took 3rd place.

Every other team headed off into negative land.

(Why did so many teams think there are only 1000 watts in a megawatt?)

Question 2 - Everybody got it right, so the top 3 places stayed the same due to the lead they had built up because everyone else got Question 1 wrong.

Question 3 - Stuffed If Barney Knows made their first mistake, allowing new team Chlozel to sneak into 3rd.

Unfortunately, Sunboyz got Question 4 wrong, which allowed Betty Swallows to moved into 1st place.

Sunboyz slipped down to 2nd place and Team Nunya moved into 3rd place.

Question 5 - Ita Buttcheeks made their move in the background.

They were the only team to know where Benalla was (Victoria!), so they moved from 2nd-last to 4th place.

(In fact, Ita was the only team to get every question from Question 5 to the final question correct.)

The top 3 stayed the same - Betty Swallows, Sunboyz, Team Nunya.

Question 6 - Team Nunya got it wrong, allowing Ita Buttcheeks to move into 3rd place.

Question 7 - 8 out of 9 teams got it right, most of whom answered in under 2 seconds.

The top 3 stayed the same.

Betty Swallows had a lead of 157 points over Sunboyz, with Ita Buttcheeks a further 283 points behind.

Question 8 - Sunboyz answered correctly in under 3 seconds.

However, Betty Swallows took almost 16 seconds to answer it correctly.

Sunboyz moved into 1st place with a lead of 67 points.

Question 9 - Sunboyz and Betty Swallows answered correctly in virtually the same time.

Sunboyz stayed 67 points in front of Betty Swallows.

Question 10 - This time Betty Swallows answered the fastest of all teams- 0.453 seconds.

This was their highest-scoring correct answer in the whole round - 993 points.

(Which would have been a new record if Sunboyz hadn't already snaffled it up.)

Conversely, Sunboyz were the slowest of all teams to answer - 6.61 seconds.

This was their lowest-scoring correct answer in the whole round - 890 points.

Crucially, this meant that Betty Swallows gained 103 points on Sunboyz

This allowed them to take back 1st place with a lead of just 36 points.

Ita Buttcheeks were still puttering along, a further 193 points behind.

And that's how it stayed until the end.

Question 11 - Betty Swallows increased their lead to 65 points.

Ita Buttcheeks got their deficit down to 131 points.

Question 12 - Betty Swallows ended up with a winning margin of 81 points.

Sunboyz held onto 2nd place, with Ita Buttcheeks 119 points behind.

Betty Swallows answered 11 out of 12 questions correctly. (Curses, Benalla!)

Sunboyz and Ita Buttcheeks answered 10 out of 12 correctly.

Betty Swallows took out the Major Jackpot, winning $350.

Sunboyz took out the Minor Jackpot, winning $100.

Ita Buttcheeks took out the Mini Jackpot, winning $50.

Betty Swallows' last Major Jackpot win was Season 1 Final in March 2024.

Sunboyz' last Minor Jackpot win was Season 4 Final in October 2023.

Ita Buttcheeks' last Mini Jackpot win was Season 5 Final in December 2023.

There were no questions that no team got correct.

There was 1 question that only 1 team got correct.

Amazingly, the only team who didn't have an average score per correct answer in the 900s

was Betty Swallows, the Major Jackpot winners!
